2016 began pretty strong for Fitbit, who already has a commanding market share when it comes to wearables – specifically fitness trackers. At CES in January, the company announced the Fitbit Blaze which was their new modular fitness smartwatch. That launched in earl-March at $199. The company then announced the Fitbit Alta in February and released in March for $129. Today, the company announced that they have already shipped 1 million Fitbit Blaze units and 1 million Fitbit Alta units. In less than a month for the Alta and right at a month for the Blaze, that’s some pretty good work from Fitbit.

Fitbit has a whole range of fitness trackers available. Ranging from around $50 all the way up to $250. The Fitbit Alta was marketed as their most elegant looking band to date, and it does have interchangeable bands like the Fitbit Blaze. However, unlike the Fitbit Charge HR, there is no heart rate monitor. But it does have a few other features up its sleeve like the fact it wants you to move about 250 steps each hour. This is to get you more active throughout the day. It also has a great looking display that shows you your stats as well as the time. The Fitbit Blaze, however, does a whole lot more. It even includes simple workouts that can be tried at home. The Blaze is sitting between the Fitbit Charge HR which is $150 and the Fitbit Surge which is $250. The Fitbit Blaze is a great looking watch that is interchangeable. They have silicon, leather and metal bands available.

In terms of customer satisfaction, Fitbit notes that about 83% of their customers have rated the Fitbit Blaze at 4 or 5 stars, with 78% for the Fitbit Alta. Meaning that the majority of people are pretty happy with their Fitbit Blaze and Fitbit Alta units. Fitbit’s Chief Business Officer, Woody Scal stated in a prepared statement that, “the positive response we’ve received to Blaze and Alta demonstrates our continued ability to innovate and drive strong demand for Fitbit products, which is what has made and kept us the leader in the global wearables category.”

Both the Fitbit Blaze and Fitbit Alta are available at Best Buy, Amazon, Fitbit.com and other retailers.
