While companies like Samsung and LG have already officially announced their flagship smartphones for the year, other well-known brands like HTC have yet to unveil their 2016 offering in the high-end smartphone market. The upcoming HTC 10 will be HTC’s new flagship device for this year, and it’s set for a rumored unveiling on April 12th as suggested in HTC’s teaser image from yesterday. While there is yet much to learn about the HTC 10, there are a handful of rumors about hardware specifications, and a handful of leaked images showing off what is now believed to be the final design of the phone that consumers will be able to get their hands on in the near future.
A new teaser from HTC was just posted on Twitter this morning which seems to suggest a new booming audio quality for the device, simply stating “Here comes the new Boom. You’ll hear it. #powerof10.” While past rumors have speculated that there would be no BoomSound on the HTC 10, this teaser seems to suggest otherwise and could mean that HTC’s new flagship device will indeed come with a set of BoomSound speakers that customers who have heard them before have become so fond of. When it comes to audio, HTC’s BoomSound speakers have been hard to match, often times offering up a stellar audio experience for music, movies, and games, or really anything where audio is important.
Aside from today’s teaser, other rumors about the device suggest a Super LCD 5 display panel instead of the previously rumored AMOLED, which is perhaps more likely considering HTC went with a Super LCD 3 panel in their flagship HTC One M9 from last year. While the teaser image does appear to focus on the fact that the device will most likely include BoomSound speakers, it also gives the public a look at what the speaker design will look like on the device, although this is simply a close up shot of the speaker grills which have already been seeing in the leaked images that have popped up prior to today. There’s still a few weeks to go before HTC’s official April 12th event, so there could be more teasers leading up to it.
