Huawei had plenty to say during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The company has re-announced their flagship Mate 8 tablet, and also introduced some new devices, including the MediaPad M2 tablet. Rumors prior to CES suggested that Huawei might introduce the Honor X3 tablet at the show as well, but that did not happen. Well, it seems like that tablet will be announced soon though, read on.
The Huawei Honor X3 surfaced on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) quite recently, and as it’s usually the case, we get a good look at the device itself, along with its specifications. The Honor X3 will be similar to the MediaPad M2, but they’re visibly different in terms of the design. According to TENAA, the Honor X3 will sport a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, which is a mid-range SoC. The 13-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of the Honor X3, while you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel shooter up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come out of the box here, while Huawei’s Emotion UI will also be installed here. The 4,230mAh battery has also been mentioned by TENAA, and keep in mind that you won’t be able to remove it, as this is a metal unibody handset with a non-removable battery. The fingerprint scanner will also be available here, and interesting enough, it will be located on the right side of the device.
Now, this tablet does not exactly sport high-end specs, but rumors have suggested that a higher Honor X3 variant might be launching as well. The higher-end model is expected to sport a QHD display, 4GB of RAM, and Huawei’s Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC will allegedly fuel that device. The battery will also be somewhat bigger than in the regular version, quite probably a 5,000mAh unit, though Huawei maybe even opts to include a larger battery on the inside. Anyhow, you can expect the regular model of this tablet to cost around 1,999 Yuan ($309), while we still don’t know how much will the higher-end model cost, which is not all that surprising considering we’re still not sure Huawei even plans to release it. That’s more or less it, the Honor X3 will quite probably going to be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
