For those interested in gaming, there are few better Android devices than the latest from NVIDIA. In tablet form, this means the SHIELD Tablet K1, while in Android TV form this means the NVIDIA SHIELD. As well as being designed with gamers in mind and having access to the Android games ecosystem, SHIELD Android devices also have additional access to SHIELD only titles, as well as access to NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW subscription service.
GeForce NOW is essentially a Netflix style service for gamers that lets users sign up on a monthly basis and gain access to a number of high-profile game titles on their SHIELD Android device. The service costs $7.99 per month, although NVIDIA does offer a free three-month trial service to test run how it all works and what you get for the monthly subscription cost. While the service is still relatively new, NVIDIA has been expanding the service considerably with the latest expansion occurring last month when NVIDIA announced Square Enix had joined GeForce NOW and as a result, a number Square Enix titles are set to become available through GeForce NOW, with the partnership already having launched Tomb Raider.
Following that announcement, NVIDIA has today confirmed at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco that two more publishers have now signed up to the service, SEGA and Warner Bros. The inclusion of the two publishers will see nine more games becoming available for GeForce NOW subscribers over the next few weeks and months. From the SEGA side of things, this will include the introduction of four Sonic the Hedgehog titles, including Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II and Sonic CD. This is in addition to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and Alpha Protocol which will also become available from SEGA in due time. While from Warner Bros. and completing the nine titles, LEGO Jurassic World, Mad Max and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Firm details on when the new titles will become available has not been provided as yet, although the first of them, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, has already arrived on GeForce NOW and is available to play from today.
