Huawei has been one of the most active smartphone manufacturers this year. The company has re-announced their Mate 8 flagship during CES back in January, while the company has also announced their P9 and P9 Plus flagship smartphones recently. Huawei has introduced two tablets this year as well, the MediaPad M2 10.0 in January, and the MediaPad T1 7.0 Plus quite recently. That being said, the company is expected to release two more devices soon, the Honor 5C will be announced on April 28th, and the Honor V8 will come on May 10th. Truth be told, these devices will be introduced by Huawei’s subsidiary, Honor, but it all belongs under the Huawei umbrella.
The company did confirm that the Honor V8 is coming in their recent teaser, but we didn’t know anything about the phone’s specs, aside from the fact that it will ship with two rear-facing camera sensors. Well, the phone’s specs did surface in China recently though, so let’s check those out. According to the available info, the Honor V8 is called ‘Knight’ internally (codename), and it will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM, and will be fueled by the Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC, the same chip that can be found in the Mate 8. The 8-megapixel front-facing camera will be a part of this package as well, and so will the 3,000mAh battery. Now, in addition to all this, rumors claim that the company plans to introduce the Honor 8i as well, a device which will be made for women, in a way. The Honor 8i will sport a rotating camera which can be used as either the rear-facing or front-facing shooter. Now, some of you probably remember the Honor 7i which was introduced last year and sported such a camera, so the Honor 8i will be its direct successor, if the company opts to introduce it, of course.
The Huawei Honor V8 is expected to cost around 2,000 Yuan ($308), and if that info is accurate, this handset might become very popular. If the info is accurate, this will essentially be a high-end handset, and it will probably be made out of metal, so it could easily be worth 2,000 Yuan, but we’ll see.
