April 6th was a big day for both Meizu and Huawei. Meizu has introduced their M3 Note mid-ranger, while Huawei unveiled the company’s P9 and P9 Plus flagships, as well as the TalkBand B3 fitness tracker. That being said, Meizu will also announce their new PRO 6 flagship on April 13th, it has been confirmed. The company has already sent out event invites, and the company’s CEO shared an official image of the PRO 6 yesterday.
That being said, we were unable to go to Meizu’s event this time around, so we didn’t get a chance to take a look at the device ourselves, not yet anyway. A number of hands-on images surfaced online, mostly on Chinese sites, so let’s take a closer look at the M3 Note, shall we. The images you can see in the gallery down below are a courtesy of My Drivers, a China-based mobile tech site. Anyhow, if you take a look at these hands-on images, you’ll notice that the M3 Note resembles other Meizu-branded devices quite a bit. The mBack physical button is placed below the display, and the back of the phone does resemble the MX5 and PRO 5 quite a bit. The M3 Note is the first handset in the ‘M Note’ line to be made out of metal, and considering how affordable this smartphone is, its specs and build are quite good which makes this handset quite compelling indeed. The phone’s power / lock and volume rocker keys are located on the right side, and you can also see the dual SIM tray in the gallery down below. You can use the 2nd SIM tray slot for inserting a microSD card, just in case you need more storage. The Type-C USB port is located on the bottom of the phone, and is flanked by the M3 Note’s speaker system.
The Meizu M3 Note features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Meizu’s Flyme UI available on top of it. The 13-megapixel shooter is located on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. The phone also sports a fingerprint scanner inside of the physical home key, and Meizu calls it ‘mTouch 2.1’. The device is available in Gray, Silver and Gold color variants, and is priced at 799 Yuan ($123) and 999 Yuan ($154) in China, respectively.
