Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Rumors Point to 5.8-inch Curved Display

Samsung loves to be in the spotlight, and let’s face it; the thrill is perhaps starting to fade from the arrival of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. We must look to the new Galaxy Note 6 and what stories it holds. The rumor mill has been erringly quiet for a device that should arrive this August although a rumor does have it making an official appearance as early as July. We heard earlier that the Note 6’s display will increase to 5.8-inches, and a new leak from GSM Helpdesk seems to second that size. They claim that Samsung is working on two Galaxy Note 6 designs – both a flat display and a curved display both a Quad HD resolution – but only one design will be released. This could be the reason for the increase to 5.8-inches, as it would help handle the curved edge while not decreasing the usable area. With the success of the Galaxy S7 Edge, it would be no surprise that the Note 6 will also have a curve display.

The two designs tested both use the Exynos 8 processors, but their source could not reveal which model, only that it was clocked higher than the Galaxy S7 series. There were also prototypes tested with the new Snapdragon 823 chipset. The prototypes also have as much as 6GB of RAM and all models are using 32GB of memory that is expandable via a microSD card. The Galaxy Note 6 will use the same Dual Pixel 12MP camera found on the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, but it will have improved camera software that will be an update to the Galaxy S7 series. Their source also confirmed there is a fingerprint sensor, but cannot confirm the addition of an iris scanner, although they claimed it could be built into the camera, but not yet activated. The final bit of news concerns the battery – while no exact size is known, the source believes it to be 4,000 mAh. The larger size makes sense, especially if Samsung makes the device slightly thicker to accommodate a larger battery, as they did in the Galaxy S7 series.

With July and August rapidly approaching, we should begin to see some real concrete evidence starting to show up concerning the new Galaxy Note 6. Samsung will have to start finalizing the design very soon, and once that is done, we will learn more about the next big thing.
