Wireless carriers lately have been looking for every and any reason to have a promotion. T-Mobile’s latest promotion starts tomorrow, April 8th and is for Spring Break. To Celebrate Spring Break, T-Mobile is offering you two lines with 6GB of data each (that’s 12GB of data total) for just $80 per month. Now to put that in perspective, T-Mobile offers two lines for $80/month, which come standard with 2GB of data. So here, they are essentially giving each line an extra 4GB of data for free. Making it a pretty great offer for anyone with two lines on T-Mobile, or those looking to switch to T-Mobile and have two lines. Their 2 for $100 deal is also still going on, which gives you 10GB of data per line (20GB total), which is another great option for those that need a bit more data.
Now it’s important to remember here that the $80/month is just for service. You will be paying monthly for your phone – unless you buy it outright – as well as taxes and other fees. These taxes and fees can add up to another $10. And if you pick up two Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones, that’s going to be an extra $30/month on top of that, making the full price around $150 per month. Still, when you compare that to the competition, that is quite low.
In the press release, T-Mobile’s President and CEO John Legere, of course took some jabs at the competition as he normally does. Stating that with T-Mobile you don’t have monthly access fees included. While the other three – Sprint, Verizon and AT&T – all do. There you are paying monthly for your phone, plus another $20 to access the data that you’re paying for already. Which can add up very quickly. T-Mobile doesn’t do access fees. Making things simpler, and more importantly, cheaper.
This plan is likely a limited time one, although T-Mobile didn’t state how long it’ll be available. So if you are looking to jump over to this cheaper plan, it’s definitely worth jumping on quickly before it’s gone. You can head over to T-Mobile.com to learn more.
