Video Shootout – Galaxy S7 vs HTC 10 vs LG G5 vs Nexus 6p

There’s more to camera quality than just the pictures that a smartphone takes, there’s also the video quality to take into account to.  Whether the phone can record at 4k or just 1080p, if it can do slow motion video, at what resolution and what framerate, etc.  We take the hottest phones available this Spring and put them head to head in a video recording challenge.  We’ve already taken a look at what these four phones can do when placed in low light situations, and what kinds of differences can be seen in even the brightest of daylight, so now we’re rounding out the competition here with an in-depth look at the video.

Since all four phones are able to record in 4K and in slow motion, we test out just how good the actual video quality is itself, including exposure, color accuracy and other factors.  Don’t forget about stable video too, as the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, HTC 10 and LG G5 all have optical image stabilization (OIS), but the Nexus 6p does not.  You can see for yourself just how big of a difference this makes in the final video output, especially when walking, and how it affects the video quality at night too.  Be sure to stick around for that slow motion video contest and see which one is able to better capture the nuance of what we normally don’t see in life.  Check out the video below!
