Xiaomi's Upcoming Phablet Will Be Called Xiaomi Max

Xiaomi has introduced two new devices quite recently, their new Mi 5 flagship which was announced back in February, and the Redmi 3 Pro which launched last month. Xiaomi has managed to sell around 70 million smartphones recently, and the company is looking to improve upon that this year. The Mi 5 will definitely help with that, this smartphone was expected to arrive last year, but that didn’t happen, so it will definitely help Xiaomi’s sales in 2016. It seems like the company is looking to release a huge phablet soon though, Xiaomi’s largest-ever device, read on.

The company has launched an online pool quite recently, in which the company asked their fans to vote for the naming of their upcoming phablet. Several names like Xiaomi Max, Xiaomi Big and Xiaomi Plus were available in said pool, and it seems like the Xiaomi Max naming won. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi Max naming received quite a few votes and won the pool, 51.62% consumers voted for the Xiaomi Max name. Now, the company did not share any spec info when it comes to this device just yet, but if previous rumors are accurate, the Xiaomi Max will sport a 6.4-inch panel, and will be made out of metal. The device is also rumored to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, but take this info with a grain of salt. If Xiaomi intends on releasing the Mi Note 2 this year, we do expect that device to be their flagship phablet, which means that the Xiaomi Max might sport a somewhat inferior processor. We’re only guessing here though, we haven’t seen many leaks regarding the Mi Note 2 thus far, and who knows what is Xiaomi planning to do in the end. In addition to all this, the Xiaomi Max is also rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner, though we don’t know if it will be placed on the back, or the front side of the device

There you have it, the Xiaomi Max is expected to arrive in the coming months, maybe even weeks if Xiaomi already has a working phone ready and were only waiting for the consumers to choose its name. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted.
