AT&T's New GoPhone Data Increases Are Officially A Go

If you’re an AT&T GoPhone customer, then this is your lucky week. AT&T has confirmed that starting on Friday, both new and existing customers with the $45 and $60 plans will automatically get more data at no extra charge.  At the moment, the $45 and $60 plans give you 2GB and 5GB of high-speed data. The increase will now give you 3GB and 6GB of high-speed data at no extra cost respectively. The increase in data to your plan will happen automatically and will be reflected in your account if you are already an AT&T GoPhone customer, which means there’s no need for you to do anything. Other parts of the plans will remain the same such as Unlimited Messaging to Mexico, Canada, and over 100 countries, rollover data, and Unlimited Talk & Text from the U.S. to Mexico and Canada if you are on the $60 plan which is perfect if you have friends or families in those countries. Customers are also encouraged to sign up for autopay to get a discount of $5 off each month, as AT&T will be continuing to offer this perk.

GoPhone is AT&T’s prepaid, no annual contract, pay as you go plan. You pick a plan on your terms, pay by the minute, day, or month. Just as a reminder, when signing up for AT&T’s GoPhone service, you won’t be getting the newest Android devices. The latest and most powerful Android phones available on AT&T’s site are the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the LG G4. Although these phones are over a year old, they are still very capable.

GoPhone isn’t just limited to handheld devices. It also includes tablets and mobile hotspots as well, but just like their phone selection, you won’t be getting the latest and greatest tablet when ordering from AT&T. Luckily, there is a list of compatible tablets provided by the carrier so you can use higher end products such as the NVIDIA SHIELD LTE model and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S LTE model. Phones compatible with AT&T’s network can also be brought over if you already have a device to use that is unlocked and will support their network.
