Following the changes to their Next payment plan options that will simplify things come June 9th, AT&T is also poised to make some changes to their GoPhone plan offerings for subscribers, although these changes are set to show up a lot sooner than the second week of next month. Beginning this Wednesday, May 25th, in fact, AT&T will be upping the amount of data that comes along with its current crop of GoPhone prepaid plans while also keeping the cost of those plans the same for the customers who subscribe to them, which should be a nice little perk.
This would be the second time that AT&T has actually increased the amount of data for GoPhone subscribers this year, having tossed more data into the buckets of their current plans back in the beginning of January, where the $45 plan increased from 1.5GB to 2GB of data each month, and the $60 plan jumped up from 4GB to 5GB. With this current data increase that is set to take hold in just a couple of days, the $45 GoPhone plan will go up from the previous 2GB to 3GB per month, while the $60 GoPhone plan will increase the data from the previous 5GB to 6GB per month.
Of course, as stated above there will be no increase to the monthly cost of these plans, so once again AT&T is simply giving GoPhone subscribers free data for the same price that they were already paying. It’s also being noted that AT&T is still going to be allowing customers to take advantage of the $5 bill credit on the $60 plan should they sign-up for autopay, if they haven’t done so already. In addition to increasing value for their GoPhone customers, AT&T has also recently set out to offer more value to their customer who subscribe to data for the connected car, having just recently rolled out a couple of new options as of last week. While these new GoPhone offers seem like a pretty great deal, it’s also worth mentioning that at the moment, these price changes have not officially been confirmed by AT&T, and as such should be treated as just a rumor for the time being.
