Coolpad is one of Chinese smartphone manufacturing companies you’ve probably heard of by now. This company is selling their devices in a number of markets, and they’re aiming to push more of their products to India, as many other China-based companies do. That being said, Coolpad will release their ‘Max’ flagship in India on May 20th. This device was originally introduced in January, and a higher-end model was released last month in China. That being said, let’s see what this device has to offer.
As already mentioned, the Coolpad Max has been released in two variants, one model ships with the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC and 3GB of RAM (+16GB / 32GB of internal storage), while the higher-end variant comes with the Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. Both of these variants offer microSD expansion as well, in case you need more storage. This handset also sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) 2.5D curved display, and a 2,800mAh battery. The 13-megapixel rear-facing camera (6P lens, PDAF) is also a part of this package, and next to it you’ll notice the LED flash. The 5-megapixel front-facing snapper is included here as well, and so is 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the Coolpad Max, and the company’s Cool UI is available on top of Google’s OS. There are two SIM card slots available on the Coolpad Max, and the device also comes with support for fast charging. The Coolpad Max measures 152 x 75.7 x 6.9mm, while it weighs 175 grams.
Coolpad India has released several teasers for this launch, as you can see in the gallery down below, The Coolpad Max is made out of metal, and unfortunately we still don’t know how much will it cost in the country. If you take a look at the provided image above this article, you’ll notice that there are no physical buttons present on the front side of this smartphone. The volume control buttons are placed on the left-hand side of this smartphone, while you’ll notice that the power / lock button is included on the right. The fingerprint scanner is also included on the Coolpad Max, and it is placed below the rear-facing camera.
