When it comes to Android smartphones, the majority of big-name brands often play around with Google’s vision for Android. This is often to help their products stand out from the crowd, differentiate themselves from other feature sets out there and so on, and while many users appreciate this, there are just as many that don’t. Now, a trio of new devices have been welcomed into the club, with the headlining addition here being the Nextbit Robin. The Robin was famously born on Kickstarter, and while it runs mostly stock Android, it has special software in it to keep on offloading unwanted files and apps to cloud storage. The Robin gets a codename of “ether” for its CyanogenMod releases and the other two devices joining it are the Yu Yureka (codenamed “lettuce”) and the HTC Desire 816 (codenamed “a5dwg”). It’s interesting to see the Yureka added to this list, as it ships wth Cyanogen OS onboard, but CyanogenMod 13 will bring with it the Marshmallow version of Android and perhaps some extra features here and there.
