Galaxy C5 Gets Certified By TENAA, Specs & Design Confirmed

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen quite a few leaks regarding Samsung’s ‘Galaxy C’ devices. The Galaxy C5 started leaking out quite some time ago, and the Galaxy C7 followed soon after that. According to the available info, these two devices are going to be Samsung’s upper mid-range offerings, and it seems like the company is getting ready to release these two devices on May 26th, at least according to the latest leaked teaser. It is also worth mentioning that the Galaxy C5 popped up on Bluetooth SIG earlier this month.

That being said, the Galaxy C5 has been certified in China recently. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice the Galaxy C5 images provided by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). These pictures more or less confirm previous leaks, and the design of Samsung’s upcoming smartphone. In addition to the images, TENAA has also shared Galaxy C5’s specifications. The Samsung Galaxy C5 will feature a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. The Galaxy C5 will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.5GHz, and a 2,600mAh battery will be included here as well. The 16-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of this smartphone, says TENAA, and an 8-megapixel camera will be available on the device’s front side. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the Galaxy C5, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Samsung’s very own custom skin. The phone will measure 145.9 x 72 x 6.7mm, while it will weight 153 grams.

The Galaxy C5’s design is not all that flashy, and it does resemble Samsung’s previous releases. The phone sports a physical home key below the display, which will quite probably double as a fingerprint scanner. Capacitive keys are flanking the phone’s home button (overview and back, respectively), and the power / lock button is placed on the right side of this device, while you’ll notice that the volume rocker keys are available on its left side. As far as color options go, TENAA confirmed only the Gold color variant, but the listing says ‘Gold and other’, which means consumers will get more than one option to choose from.
