OnePlus is a Shenzen-based Chinese company which was founded at the end of 2013. This company has introduced their first smartphone in 2014, the OnePlus One. That handset was considered to be one of the best smartphones of 2014, and it was followed by the OnePlus 2 which was introduced in July last year. The company’s third-gen flagship is going to be announced in a couple of months, and we’ve already seen some content leak out, and the company’s CEO even shared a camera sample from the device. The Geekbench listing which surfaced recently said that the device will ship with 6GB of RAM, and now we have some new info to share, read on.
According to the newest leak which surfaced in China, the OnePlus 3 will be priced at 1,999 Yuan ($310), and it will ship in two variants, which is interesting. The standard model will carry the aforementioned price, while the higher-end variant will be more expensive, of course. The standard OnePlus 3 variant is rumored to ship with the Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the higher-end model might ship with the Snapdragon 820, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. This sound interesting, and if the pricing is accurate, the OnePlus 3 might become a really, really popular smartphone. These are high-end specifications, even no matter which variant we’re talking about. So, when will the phone arrive? Well, latest rumors indicated that it might be announced on May 18th, and become available in early June, but nothing has been confirmed yet. As I’ve already mentioned, the OnePlus 2 was introduced in July, so it is possible its successor might be announced then as well.
What about the OnePlus 3’s other specs? Well, we still don’t have any other info to share with you, but the device will almost certainly going to ship with Android Marshmallow out of the box, and the company’s Oxygen OS will be installed on top of it. You can expect the device to be made out of metal, at least partially, and the display will quite probably be 5.5-inches once again (or close to it), unless the company opts to make some notable changes this time around.
