Samsung has introduced quite a few devices thus far in 2016. This Korea-based tech giant has released a number of smartphones, including their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagships, and also some other devices, like the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) tablet. The Galaxy Tab A 7.0 tablet was unveiled back in March, and the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) specifications and renders surfaced yesterday. The report also stated that the device might launch in Germany soon, and we really didn’t have to wait long for that to happen, read on.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has been silently announced. The device is now listed on Samsung Germany’s official website, which essentially means we know all of its specs at this point, and also get to take a look at its official design (yesterday’s renders were spot on). The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) TFT PLS display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (up to 200GB via a microSD card). Samsung’s very own Exynos 7870 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.6GHz fuels this tablet, and a 7,300mAh battery is also a part of the package, and it is not removable. The 8-megapixel shooter (f/1.9 aperture) is placed on the back of this tablet, and a 2-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture) can be found on the device’s front side. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box, and on top of it, you’ll find Samsung’s custom UI, as usual. The device measures 155.3 x 254.2 x 8.2mm, while it weighs 525 grams. The design of this tablet is quite similar to Samsung’s previous offerings, there’s a physical home button below the display which is flanked by two capacitive buttons, and the design in general is not flashy at all.
Two Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) variants have been announced, the WiFi-only and 4G LTE variants. The WiFi-only model costs 289 Euros ($329), while the 4G LTE variant will set you back 349 Euros ($397) should you choose to buy it. The device will be available in Black and White color variants, and it will be available for purchase in Germany and some other European countries starting from June 2016. It remains to be seen if the device will roll out to countries outside of Europe, but that will probably happen at some point.
