Samsung has already introduced quite a few smartphones this year, including the company’s all-new flagship offerings, the S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. That being said, one of the company’s upcoming tablets has surfaced on GFXBench recently, as you probably know, and it carries the SM-T536 codename. We were wondering what will this tablet going to be called, and a recent report seemingly reveals that information, read on.
According to a report from Poland, the Samsung SM-T536 will be called the Galaxy Tab 4 Advanced. The source doesn’t really reveal where the info comes from, but the site seems confident this will be the name of the upcoming tablet. For those of you who didn’t spot the benchmark listing the other day, this is a mid-range tablet, and it’s probably going to be rather affordable, like the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, for example. According to the GFXBench listing, the SM-T536 aka Galaxy Tab 4 Advanced, will sport a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The device will be fueled by an octa-core SoC running at 1.5GHz, which will not be one of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mid-range processors considering the Mali-T830 GPU was also listed. Samsung will probably include one of their mid-range Exynos chips here, the Exynos 7850 or Exynos 7870 perhaps. The 5-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of this tablet, and you’ll be able to find a 2-megapixel shooter up front. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this tablet, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Samsung’s custom UI, also known as TouchWiz.
Now, considering that the GFXBench listing was the only SM-T536 info we’ve had until today’s rumor, we still don’t know what will this tablet look like, even though we can guess. Chances are that the Galaxy Tab 4 Advanced will look quite similar to other Samsung-branded tablets out there, it might be made out of plastic completely, though it’s possible Samsung might opt to include a metallic frame here. The physical home button will almost certainly going to be placed below the display, and it will be flanked by two capacitive keys, of course.
