Video: Unboxing the Meizu PRO 6

The Meizu PRO 6 is the latest smartphone from Meizu, and it was announced just a few weeks ago. This smartphone has some pretty spectacular specs inside. We’re looking at a MediaTek Helio X25 SoC which is a deca-core processor powering the Meizu PRO 6. Additionally there’s a 5.2-inch 1080p display, with 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage and no microSD card slot. Along with a 2560mAh non-removable battery inside and a 21MP camera on the back. Meizu has given us a pretty interesting feature with the rear-facing camera which is a 10 LED flash ring below the camera. Which should help with low-light photography.

Inside the box, Meizu has provided us with the phone, the USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable, the wall adapter, SIM ejection tool and a variety of paperwork. Which includes showing you how to get the SIM tray out. The box is a bit different from your typical smartphone box. As it’s not cardboard, but rather plastic. It’s a nice looking box, and something that is definitely out of the ordinary.

The Meizu PRO 6 isn’t your typical Android smartphone out of China, it costs about 2499 RMB (64GB is going for 2799 RMB), which loosely converts to about $390 USD. Not your typical cheap smartphone, but given the specs and materials used in the build quality, it’s expected that this would be a bit more expensive. We’ve been using the Meizu PRO 6 for a few days now and really like the device, along with all the changes that have been made in Flyme OS 5.2 which is based off of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We’ll have a full review for you in the very near future, which will tell you everything you need to know about this device. Now since the Meizu PRO 6 is only officially sold in China, Asia, and parts of Europe, it’s expected that it won’t work completely on the US carriers. However it does work on T-Mobile and AT&T’s HSPA+ network. But it doesn’t use all of their bands. So often times you’ll find it dropping to 3G or even EDGE.
