Xiaomi Max Images Surface, No Physical Home Button In Sight

Xiaomi Max has been all over the news lately. The company has confirmed that their new phablet will launch on May 10th alongside the MIUI 8 OS. Some rumors even indicated that the Mi Band 2 might be introduced alongside the Xiaomi Max, but the company’s CEO denied those rumors, and said that the MI Band 2 release has been postponed for one month due to production issues. Speaking of Lei Jun, he has also shown of the Xiaomi Max recently, though the image was rather blurry and we couldn’t tell if the phone will sport a physical home key, or the capacitive button setup below the display.

That being said, we did see several leaks after Lei Jun shared the Xiaomi Max image, and pretty much every leak after that showcased a device with a capacitive set of buttons which seemingly confirm that the phone will not sport a physical home key. Well, a couple of new Xiaomi Max images surfaced today, and they basically confirm the same thing. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see a couple of images showcasing the phone, and the standard Xiaomi capacitive button setup is present here (menu, home and back, respectively). The device sports thin side bezels it seems (though the black bars are present here), and it goes hand-in-hand with the other leaks that have surfaced thus far.

According to rumors and benchmark listings, the Xiaomi Max will sport a 6.44-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM, and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 64-bit octa-core processor will most probably fuel this smartphone, even though the Snapdragon 820 and Xiaomi’s very own ‘Rifle’ SoC were also mentioned in various rumors. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is expected to come pre-installed on the Xiaomi Max, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find the MIUI 8 OS. The 16-megapixel rear-facing camera has also been mentioned, and even the Xiaomi Max commercial surfaced quite recently, in case you’re interested in checking that out as well. As already mentioned, the device will be introduced in only a couple of days, on May 10th, so stay tuned for that.
