Meizu has been pretty quiet in the first quarter of the year, and then the company introduced three new smartphones in April. Meizu has released the Meizu M3, M3 Note and PRO 6 two months ago. The first two devices are basically mid-range offerings by Meizu, while the latter one is the company’s all-new flagship. That being said, the Meizu M3 Metal has been surfacing like crazy in the last couple of weeks, and a recent report suggested that Meizu plans to release that phone under the Meizu M3S name. This device will be announced on June 13th, the company has already scheduled an event for said date.
We’ve seen this device’s design (renders) already thanks to TENAA, but we still didn’t see its real life image. Well, that’s about to change considering a number of Meizu M3S real life images surfaced recently, and you can check all of them in the gallery down below. The Meizu M3S resembles other Meizu-branded devices quite a bit, no matter if we look at its front or back side. The mBack physical button is placed below the display, and the flash is once again located below the rear-facing camera. Judging by the images we’ve seen thus far, this smartphone will be made out of metal, which makes sense considering it was supposed to be called ‘Meizu M3 Metal’.
This smartphone will sport similar specs to the Meizu M3. The Meizu M3S will sport a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6750 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz will fuel this smartphone, and a 3,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package. Meizu has opted to use a 13-megapixel main shooter here, while the 5-megapixel snapper will be utilized up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the phone, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Meizu’s Flyme UI. The device will measure 153.6 x 75.6 x 8.3mm, while it will weigh 166 grams. That is more or less it, the device will be announced in less than a week at this point, so stay tuned.
