Acer Liquid Zest Plus Available In Canada Next Month For $249

Acer is a Chinese-based company well known for its PC computers and laptops, but they also make smartphones.  In April, Acer announced the arrival of their new Liquid Zest Plus and it is now being reported that it is due to arrive in Canada this July for about $249 as an outright price.  Acer has not supplied any details on specific carriers or retail availability, but has said it will do so at a later date.

The Acer Liquid Zest Plus, besides its unusual name and modest specifications, is gaining recognition due to its massive 5,000 mAh battery, which Acer claims can drive the Liquid Zest Plus for three full days.  It sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a modest 267 pixels-per-inch (PPI.)  The brains is a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and a Mali-T720MP2 GPU for graphics.  It is packing 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a dedicated microSD card.

The camera area on the Liquid Zest Plus uses a 13MP main shooter that Acer claims sports an ultra-fast hybrid tri-focusing system with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and laser autofocus along with an LED flash.  The front-facing camera is an 85-degree wide-angle 5MP for shooting selfies and the occasional video chat.  The Liquid Zest Plus also features the DTS-HD Premium Sound for great deep bass and 3D audio over earphones.  As we mentioned earlier, a gigantic 5,000 mAh battery that offers rapid charge capabilities powers the Liquid Zest Plus and should give you up to three days with these specs.  Most of the usual suspects are here including WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and data transfers. The Liquid Zest plus comes with the newest Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed, and on top of it, Acer’s own custom UI. There is no NFC or fingerprint sensor, which is not that unusual for a device in this price range.

As mentioned, Acer has confirmed that the Acer Liquid Zest Plus will make its way to certain Canadian carriers this summer and most likely in July.  It will sell for $249 Canadian dollars and offers a nice package for those looking for a mid-range device that will last 2-3 days without a charge.
