First Renders Of The Upcoming 'Imoo' Smartphone Surface

Imoo is a completely new Chinese brand which was launched by BBK, a China-based company which actually owns OPPO, Vivo and OnePlus. This company’s Weibo (Chinese social media) page surfaced about a week ago, and it immediately teased their first product, an ‘educational smartphone’. BBK has been around for quite some time now, they’ve been manufacturing game consoles in the past, and more recently have been releasing educational products for Children. The upcoming Imoo phone actually seems like a combination between their smartphone businesses and the education products they’ve been releasing, though the upcoming smartphone is definitely not going to be aimed at children, we can expect a full metal smartphone which will offer some interesting features, at least according to the first teaser.

That being said, the first teaser really did not reveal much in terms of the design, but luckily, a couple of new renders of the device leaked quite recently. Now, if you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see three images, and even though all three of them show us the phone from the same angle, each of these images shows off different parts of the phone’s UI. At first glance, these renders seem to show off an app for learning English, and it seems like this app will be available out of the box. The first teaser did show that the phone will sport a physical ‘record’ button as well, so we assume you’ll be able to fire up a recording app through that button.

Now, as far as the design itself goes, this smartphone resembles a number of already available Chinese smartphones. The design itself screams ‘Vivo’ in a way, and that is not all that surprising. The phone will sport three capacitive buttons below the display, menu, home and back, respectively. Both the power / lock and volume rocker keys will be placed on the device’s right-hand side, while the aforementioned ‘record’ button sits on the left-hand side of this smartphone. We still don’t have any spec info when it comes to this phone, but we assume it won’t be that huge, and it will certainly going to be interesting to see what kind of apps will Imoo pre-load on it for the phone to justify its ‘educational’ status.
