Samsung is, as many of you know, the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Pretty much everyone has heard of their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagship smartphones, and quite a few people know that the Galaxy Note 7 (or Note 6, depending on which rumor you choose to believe) is coming later this year. That being said, Samsung tends to release quite a few low and mid-range smartphones a year, like the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 devices which were introduced last month.
These two devices were announced in China, and people have been wondering if the company plans to launch them in other regions. Well, it turns out they’re coming to the U.S. at the very least, both of these smartphones paid a visit to the FCC quite recently. This more or less confirms that they will launch in the U.S. soon, though we still don’t know when exactly nor how much will the two devices cost. You can expect them to be somewhat more expensive than in China though, the Galaxy C5’s pricing starts at 2,199 Yuan ($335) in China, and goes all the way up to 2,399 Yuan ($365). The Galaxy C7, on the other hand, can be purchased (the 32GB storage model) for 2,599 Yuan ($396), and the variant with more storage costs 2,799 Yuan ($426). Take that into account considering the fact that the pricing in the U.S. will quite probably be somewhat comparable.
Both of these devices are made out of metal, and are quite similar, though they come with somewhat different specifications, and the Galaxy C7 is the bigger one out of the two. The Galaxy C5 sports a 5.2-inch fullHD AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, and packs in a 2,600mAh non-removable battery. The 16-megapixel camera is placed on the back of this phone, and the phone ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the company’s custom UI on top of it. The Galaxy C7, on the other hand, features a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, it is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 SoC, and also comes with 4GB of RAM and in 32GB / 64GB storage flavors. The 3,300mAh battery is included here, and the software is more or less identical to the Galaxy C5’s offering, same can be said for its rear-facing camera.
