Samsung’s Good Lock does not quite stick to its namesake. While it does completely change up the lock screen for compatible devices, it’s more of a complete device makeover. It revamps just about everything, from the recent apps interface to the notification shade and the settings menu. In the latest update, put out on Tuesday, Good Lock brings more changes to the notification shade, recent apps, quick settings and multitasking interfaces.
First on the somewhat lengthy change log for this update, Sync, Ultra Power Saving Mode and a special Quick Connect Bar have all made their way into the quick settings menu. The multitasking interface, multi-window in particular, receives a number of tweaks. For starters, as seen in the video below, a quick click on the multitasking button of certain apps in the notification shade will allow them to run as a pop-up window that you can move around, resize and maximize. On that same window, you’ll find a control to send the task back from whence it came and get back to what you were doing. Backup and restore functions for Good Lock’s configuration have been added, and users can now toggle silent mode using their volume keys, an option that was present by default in Android until version 5.0 Lollipop. A large number of fixes, enhancements and minor tweaks are on board as well, meaning that most of the bugs that have plagued the app so far should be squashed. A few color tweaks are also on deck, to make things a bit prettier on the default theme.
If you happen to own a Samsung device that’s compatible and want to check out the update, but it’s unavailable on the Galaxy Apps store for whatever reason, a reboot may do the trick. If not, simply use the download link you’ll find in the source link below the bottom of the article. The download is rather small, weighing in at only about 14.2MB. Obviously, this means that it contains only the update, and those who do not currently use Good Lock will need to go through the Galaxy Apps store.
