LeEco Will Announce A New Smartphone On June 29th

LeEco is one of the fastest growing China-based smartphone manufacturers at the moment. This company entered the smartphone space back in April last year, and have managed to grab quite a large chunk of the market in China and India thus far. The company had unveiled the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 handsets in China back in April, and according to the latest rumor, the company is actually planning to announce the world’s first 8GB RAM smartphone in the near future. That being said, the company has just scheduled a press conference in China, read on.

The company has confirmed through their official Weibo (Chinese social network) account, that they will announce a new handset on June 29th. The conference will be held in Shanghai at 2PM (local time), and as you can see, the teaser image contains a bullet as well. This is not all that revealing, but it seems like LeEco is trying to say that their new phone will be extremely fast. Considering that the 8GB RAM handset is the only LeEco smartphone rumor we’ve seen recently, is it possible that the company will release such a device already? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see, and before that happens, let’s see what specifications can we expect, shall we.

According to the recently leaked information, the all-new LeEco flagship will actually be a new variant of the Le Max 2 phablet. This handset is expected to ship with the yet-unannounced Snapdragon 821 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 25-megapixel main camera. So, is it possible that the Snapdragon 821 will be introduced at that event along with the LeEco’s new flagship? Well, yes, it is, mainly because the Snapdragon 821 is basically just a new Snapdragon 820 variant, a slightly more powerful SoC due to clock speed, or at least that’s what the rumors have been saying. This smartphone is also expected to ship with a 5.7-inch QHD display, metal build, and the phone will, allegedly, launch in Blue, Red and White color variants. The device is expected to cost around 2,999 Yuan ($455), though we’ll know more on June 29th when LeEco will either release this handset, or perhaps a new variant of their Le 2 smartphone, we’ll see.
