LeEco's Upcoming Smartphone Leaks, Dual Camera Setup In Tow

LeEco hasn’t been in the smartphone business for long, but this China-based company is already making waves. They’ve released three new smartphones back in April, the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2, and it seems like yet another LeEco-branded phone is coming. The Snapdragon 821-powered LeEco-branded smartphone surfaced on AnTuTu quite recently, and basically confirmed that a new Qualcomm-made flagship SoC is on its way. LeEco has already announced a press conference for June 29th, and we do expect them to introduce this smartphone during the show.

That being said, this device did land on AnTuTu quite recently, but we still didn’t see its design, until now, that is. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see a LeEco-branded smartphone with a new design, it won’t be identical to the company’s already available phones after all. This is just the device’s back cover, but it confirms that the device will not only ship with the dual camera setup on the back, but a fingerprint scanner as well. The phone will be made out of metal it seems, and you’ll also notice the antenna lines on the top and bottom of this handset. If this antenna design seems familiar to you, there’s a good reason for that, the Meizu PRO 6 which was released in April sports that very same setup. Now, we did not expect to see the dual camera setup so soon on one of LeEco’s phones, but a recent report did confirm it is coming.

Anyhow, if AnTuTu is to be believed, this LeEco handset (LEX720) will feature a fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, though we still don’t know how big will it be. The phone will pack in 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon MSM8996pro SoC will fuel this smartphone, and based on its model number, this is either the Snapdragon 821 or Snapdragon 823, neither of those chips were officially unveiled by the company just yet. The Adreno 530 GPU will be here for graphics processing, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here with LeEco’s custom UI on top of it. That is more or less everything we know thus far, this handset is expected to land the day after tomorrow, so stay tuned.
