Android is the most widely-used mobile operating system in the world, and for a reason. Not only are Android-based devices available at all price points, but Android is also by far the most customizable OS, something that is appreciated by millions of users around the world. There are a whole lot of extra features and functionality that can be added to Android phones and tablets thanks to the easy availability of (mostly free) apps available on the Play Store, but the absolute easiest thing to do is to alter the look and feel of the GUI (Graphic User Interface) by installing one of the many free or freemium launchers available on the Play Store, in conjunction with all-new themes and icon packs that are also often available for free or at a very reasonable cost.
Nova Launcher is one such app that is widely noted for being one of the very best, feature rich and easy to use launchers in the market. While the app does have a premium version called Nova Launcher Prime that normally comes with a price-tag of $4.99 in the U.S., it also has a free version that incorporates most of the features of Nova Launcher Prime, but without support for some of the more niche features, such as gesture commands, the ability to create custom groups in the app drawer, a count for unread notifications, the option to hide apps that are never used and to set personalized actions for swipes on app shortcuts or folders. There are a couple of other features mentioned by the developer TeslaCoil Software as well, but while none of them are stuff that one just can’t live without, it is always nice to add some extra functionality to your device.
That being the case, Google is now making it really easy for everyone to buy the software by offering a whopping 80% discount on it for a limited time. So users wanting to install the full version of the most-used launcher apps in the entire Android landscape can now do so for just the $0.99. U.K. residents will apparently get it for a few pennies less, with £0.50 ($0.73) being the discounted price in the country. However, all of that pales into insignificance next to the price Google is quoting in India. Residents of the South Asian nation can grab this app during the course of the promotion for just Rs. 10 ($0.15).
