As most of you know by now, OnePlus has introduced their all-new flagship yesterday, the OnePlus 3. The device was announced during the company’s VR event, and even though we knew pretty much everything about this smartphone before it launched, its pricing still managed to surprise us. Very few people believed that OnePlus intends to price their new flagship so low, having in mind what specs and build quality are we looking at here. The OnePlus 3 was announced in one version only, with a whopping 6GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 820 under the hood, and that handset costs only $399 in the US, and prices in other countries are comparable. That being said, yesterday’s event was a global event, and OnePlus decided to host a separate event in India in order to unveil their flagship in that Asian country. This was not a VR event though, OnePlus actually hosted a regular event in order to show off their new phone. Some people suggested that OnePlus might announce a 4GB RAM variant of the device in India, but the company yesterday confirmed that such thing won’t happen. So, Indian users are also getting the 6GB RAM variant of the OnePlus 3, the only version that was announced thus far. So, how much does the OnePlus 3 cost in India? Well, you’ll have to splash out Rs. 27,999 ($417) in order to get it, which means it’s a bit more expensive than in the US, but it’s still incredibly affordable. During the event, OnePlus has announced that those of you who purchase the device will get 12 months of Saavn Pro subscription package to access unlimited music for free (ad-free music and downloads), but that’s not all. The company is also including Rs. 500 credit for Kindle Store India (e-books) over the next 12 months, and OnePlus has also partnered up with Idea Cellular in order to offer unlimited Double Data on any 4G data plan for the next 12 months, not to mention you’ll get 12 months of accidental damage protection with Servify.
The OnePlus 3 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Optic AMOLED display, 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package and it is not removable. The 16-megapixel OIS snapper can be found on the back of this smartphone, and an 8-megapixel camera is available up front. This device is made out of metal, and it comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with OnePlus’ OxygenOS on top of it.
