OnePlus, Oppo & Vivo Owners Launch A New Brand Called 'Imoo'

OnePlus had recently introduced the OnePlus 3, their new flagship. This company is well-known outside of China at this point, while both Vivo and OPPO are best known in Asia, though you’ve probably already heard of both of these companies. That being said, you’ve probably never heard of BBK, even though that name is closely connected to all three aforementioned companies. BBK is actually one of the main investors in all three companies we’ve mentioned, OPPO, Vivo and OnePlus are basically BBK’s subsidiaries, and this company has actually just announced a new brand in China, a brand called Imoo, read on.

BBK is a company which has been around for a long time now, they actually used to make game consoles before, NES clones essentially. Lately, however, they’ve invested quite a bit of cash in various China-based smartphone manufacturing companies, and have been in the business of building educational products for children. Anyhow, we don’t know much about BBK’s new Imoo brand, and it seems like they will be releasing quite a few different tech gadgets under this brand. The company intends to release the world’s first ‘educational smartphone’ in order to combine their knowledge from both the smartphone world, and the educational toys business. The company has released an official teaser for the upcoming smartphone, as you can see, and there’s a record button below the SIM tray, this will probably be used for taking notes and other study-related actions. The phone that is being teased here is made out of metal, obviously, and it seems like we’re looking at a metal unibody design.

That is more or less it, we don’t really have any additional info to share at this time. Imoo is BBK’s new company, and they will be manufacturing educational products, at least if we take their first product into consideration. We’re not really sure if it’s a great idea to release an ‘educational smartphone’, nor what kind of an edge will it have over regular devices, but we’ll see. This handset will probably arrive in the coming weeks, and chances are it will launch in China only, at least initially. Either way, stay tuned.
