OPPO was one of the most successful China-based smartphone manufacturing companies last year. This company had managed to sell 50 million smartphones last year, and such numbers managed to surprise quite a few people. OPPO is aiming to do even better this year, they’ve already introduced a number of compelling smartphones, including the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus, but OPPO fans are still waiting for the company to introduce their new flagship smartphone, the OPPO Find 9. The OPPO Find 7 was announced back in May 2014, which means it has been over 2 years since the company introduced a ‘Find’ flagship. We’ve seen a number of rumors regarding the OPPO Find 9 already, and a new one just leaked, read on.
This information comes from KJuma, an industry insider. The source has shared not only OPPO Find 9’s alleged specs, but also the sketch of the device, as you can see in the provided image. According to this image, the device is going to sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) ‘Dual Edge’ AMOLED display, which essentially means its display will be curved on the both sides, like we’ve seen on the Galaxy S7 Edge and Vivo XPlay 5 this year. The phone will also pack in 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while a 4,100mAh battery will be included in this package along with OPPO’s Super VOOC Flash Charge tech. The 21-megapixel shooter will be placed on the back of this smartphone (will include SmartSensor image stabilization), and a 16-megapixel camera will be available on its front side. It is interesting that specs mention only 1 rear-facing camera, and there seem to be two of them included based on the image above. The Type-C USB 2.0 port will be available on the bottom of the phone, and the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. Qualcomm still hasn’t announced this SoC, but it is expected to be almost identical to the Snapdragon 820 (higher clock rate). The phone will, allegedly, ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find OPPO’s Color OS 3.0 skin.
It seems a bit odd OPPO would include Android 5.1 Lollipop on this phone instead of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but we’ll see what happens. Now, As far as the sketch goes, it seems like the speaker grill will be placed in the lower part of the phone’s back, and the phone will have a rather interesting design all around. We still do not know when will this smartphone going to be announced, but one rumor did say that it might launch before the end of this month, we’ll see.
