T-Mobile Tuesdays App Issues & Analysts Doubting Impact

Yesterday brought with it the latest Un-Carrier installment from T-Mobile. As part of Un-Carrier 11, T-Mobile introduced a new stock initiative for its customers as well as a new app which has now been revealed as T-Mobile Tuesdays. With the focus of Un-Carrier 11 being on ‘the appreciation of their customers’, the app looks to offer T-Mobile customers the chance to win prizes as well as a number of weekly freebies. This week for instance includes a free 2 topping pizza and a free ticket to see the new Warcraft movie.

However, early indications from some analysts is that they do not expect either Stock Up or T-Mobile Tuesdays to highly increase subscriber numbers. In particular, analyst firm Jefferies were reportedly noted commenting on Stock Up by stating that “Although the stock program could incentivize increased referrals and incremental net adds, we do not expect any major impact.” While when talking on the announcements of Un-Carrier 11 in general, added, “we believe the announcements are unlikely to have a major impact on subscriber trends.”

Either way and in spite of some doubts as to the end benefits of these particular incentives for T-Mobile, it does seem as though a substantial number of customers are downloading the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. So many in fact that even with the app only being available for one day, it is already experiencing a number of problems and by a substantial number of users. Customers have taken to various social media outlets to vent their frustrations and the app reviews on the Google Play Store listing are echoing the same sort of issues and frustrations, including the loss of claimed freebies, having to constantly re-sign up and so on. This has since led to T-Mobile also taking to Twitter to confirm the existence of the problems and also their intent to get the issues fixed with their latest tweet reading “very high demand on the app – we’re working on it.” Needless to say, if you have downloaded the app and are experiencing the same sort of issues than you are not alone. You can see an example of some of the user comments left on Google Play below.
