During T-Mobile’s Un-carrier 11 announcement today, the company announced that they are giving thanks to their customers. To do that, the company announced the T-Mobile Tuesdays app, which allows customers to get freebies like movie rentals, Frosty’s from Wendy’s, as well as surprises bonuses each and every week. Just for being a T-Mobile customer. On top of that, T-Mobile also announced that they are giving everyone a share of the company. T-Mobile’s CEO, John Legere stated that they want “to turn millions of its existing customers into shareholders”. This move is effective tomorrow, June 7th, for everyone who is the primary account holder on their eligible postpaid account. Unfortunately, if you aren’t the primary account holder, you won’t be able to get a share of the company, yet. Additionally, anyone who switches over to T-Mobile beginning tomorrow and signs up for a Simple Choice plan will automatically get a share of T-Mobile US stock.
That’s not all though. T-Mobile customers can literally “Stock Up”, and get up to 100 shares of the company every year. For every customer that you refer to T-Mobile, you’ll get another share of the company. And that is up to 100 shares in a year. Based on the current share price, that is about $4,200, just for recommending people to switch to T-Mobile. If you’ve been with T-Mobile for five or more years, then you’ll get two full shares of stock for every recommendation through 2017. That’s a pretty big deal, as you’re doubling the amount of stock you will own in T-Mobile. The company’s CEO, John Legere, stated that “there’s no higher praise than hearing a customer say they recommend T-Mobile to family and friends.”
Existing customers will be able to claim your share of T-Mobile through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app beginning tomorrow, through June 21st, 2016. It’s pretty simple, and the app walks you through claiming it. You will need to set up an account with T-Mobile’s brokerage partner, which is LOYAL3. There are no fees to get or sell your share within the first year. Additionally, as long as you remain an active customer, there is no fee to maintain your account with LOYAL3.
