Lenovo’s ZUK brand has released three smartphones thus far, the ZUK Z1, ZUK Z2 and ZUK Z2 Pro. The ZUK Z1 was their first ever smartphone, and it was announced last year, while the other two devices arrived quite recently. The ZUK Z2 is a really powerful Snapdragon 820-powered smartphone, while the ZUK Z2 Pro is the company’s new flagship which also ships with the Snapdragon 820 SoC, but also 6GB of RAM. That being said, a first teardown of the ZUK Z2 surfaced in China, read on.
The ZUK Z2 is a sleek-looking phone. This device sports a metal chassis, and glass on both its front and back side, much like the OnePlus X actually, and the two devices are even comparable in terms of sheer size, they both sport 5-inch displays. ZUK Z2’s design isn’t exactly modular, and glass panel on the back usually complicates things a bit when it comes to the repair process. The ZUK Z2 sports a 5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of the device, and an 8-megapixel shooter is available up front. The 3,500mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the ZUK Z2, and on top of it, you’ll find ZUK’s very own ZUI 2.0 user interface. This is a dual SIM smartphone (2 x nano SIM), which measures 141.7 x 68.9 x 8.5mm, while it weighs 149 grams. It is also worth mentioning that this phone also features a fingerprint scanner which is built into the physical home key.
