Top 10: Android News Stories – June 26th, 2016

Quite a bit has happened this past week in the world of Android, and as always if you have happened to miss any of the top stories from the last seven days we’ll have it all rounded up for you here. There were no new phone launches this past week, but there were a couple of rumors surrounding Samsung’s next major device, referred to as the Galaxy Note 7. According to the latest rumor, the Galaxy Note 7 is the confirmed name for the phone and alongside that there has been a few rumored specifications for the device which are also claimed to be confirmed, like the inclusion of the iris scanner and a 5.7-inch Quad HD display just to name a couple.

In regards to rumors, the specs for one of the upcoming HTC-made Nexus smartphones has also leaked. The device codenamed “Sailfish” is said to be coming with a 5-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, an unspecified quad-core processor, a 2,770 mAh battery, and a 12MP rear camera as well as an 8MP front camera, among other specs. YouTube confirmed that Live Streaming will be added as a new feature into the mobile app soon, and is currently going through a limited test with a handful of content creators at the moment. It has been confirmed that Nikesh Arora has left his role as Softbank’s president this past week, and HTC saw a loss this past week as well as the company’s Co-Founder, Peter Chou, left his company.
