Earlier this week, just yesterday in fact, a list of specifications leaked out claiming to be some of the hardware that users can expect to see from one of the upcoming Nexus devices that is rumored to be launching from HTC. The device rumored to be codenamed ‘Sailfish’ is the device in question, and judging by the rumored specifications it would seem that it would be the entry-level device of the two, although that likely isn’t much of a shock considering that the device codenamed ‘Marlin’ was already rumored to be coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.
In regards to Sailfish, the device is said to be coming with a 5-inch Full HD display with 440 ppi, and come equipped with a 2.0GHz 64-bit quad-core processor although it wasn’t listed what the brand would be. It was also listed as having 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space with a possibility of other storage size variants, and a 12MP rear camera as well as an 8MP front camera. If the specs prove true, it should also come with a fingerprint sensor located on the back just like with the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P that launched last year, and it could be powered by a 2,770 mAh battery that is non-removable. A 3.5mm audio port and USB Type-C port could both be on board, and it’s said to support Bluetooth 4.2. Unfortunately there was no rumor on which Android OS version it would be launching with, but given all of the recent coverage with Android N and Google coming up on their final developer preview build for the software, as well as statements that Android N would be launching later this Summer, it would be safe to assume that Android N would be the version launching with this new device. Based on the rumored specifications, are you happy with the build? Would you consider buying one if the cost was right?
