ZTE is, as many of you know, one of the largest China-based smartphone manufacturers. This company has been around for quite some time now, and their Blade and AXON devices have been selling really. ZTE had introduced several devices earlier this year, including their AXON 7 flagship we’ve talked about quite recently. That being said, it seems like the company is doing great in Europe, at least according to the latest piece of info we’ve received, read on.
According to Counterpoint Technology Market Research, ZTE has managed to secure the fifth position in Europe for the highest smartphone shipments in the first quarter this year. This report is based on research and data collected from approximately 90% smartphone manufacturers which are currently active in the world. “We’re very excited by our achievement in Europe, especially given that there are so many other smartphone companies that are trying to gain popularity here. As we continue to launch premium smartphones pegged with an affordable price tag, it makes it easier for consumers to try our devices. We are thankful for the support fans have given us and we’re confident that we’ll soon rise to number four in Europe,” said Jacky Zhang, CEO of EMEA and APAC at ZTE Mobile Devices.
ZTE is selling their AXON and Blade series in Europe, and it seems like the company has been selling quite a few of these devices lately. ZTE has managed to ship more than 30 million Blade devices in over 50 countries in the world by the end of last year. ZTE says that they’ve been selling quite a few Blade devices in Germany, Spain, France and the UK. The company is actually aiming to grab a 4% market share in Germany in the next 12 to 18 months, and in order to do that, the company has partnered up with Borussia Mönchengladbach, a German football team. Spain is yet another market ZTE has been selling quite a few devices, the company has increased their market share in Spain from 3 to 4.4% this year, and has partnered up with Sevilla, a Spanish football team, in order to push their brand forward.
