New Leak Points to ZTE Axon 7 Mini Coming

According to a recent leak, it looks like Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE is preparing for yet another smartphone launch. As per the leak, the device believed to be a mini version of recently launched ZTE’s flagship device Axon 7 and purportedly called the ZTE Axon Mini. As the name suggests, this device will be a smaller and lower priced version of Axon 7 flagship smartphone.

The leak also revealed some of the specifications of the Axon 7 Mini. Basically, it will be a compact device, featuring most of the same features of the Axon 7 except screen size and System On Chip (SoC). The Axon 7 Mini is believed to feature a 5.2-inch 1920 × 1080 Full HD display and on the hardware side, the Axon 7 Mini is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 Octa-core processor, which you can find in most of the budget smartphone today. The Axon 7 Mini will boast 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there’s a 16-megapixel of rear camera with flash, while the front-facing camera is 8-megapixel for selfie snaps. and to power this all, there is a 2,705 mAh battery. Even though it’s a mini version there will be a fingerprint sensor located on the back of the device. On the software side device will comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZTE’s customised skin on top.

For better comparison, here is a quick run-down of the Axon 7: the Axon 7 was launched back in may 2016. It features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 820 (made up of a 2.15 GHz dual-core and 1.6 GHz dual-core) with Adreno GPU 530. There is a rear-facing 20-megapixel with an aperture of f/1.8, optical image stabilization (OIS), phase detection autofocus and dual-tone flashlight, while the front-facing camera an 8-megapixel camera with a f/2.2 aperture for taking better selfies. The battery on the Axon 7 is a 3,250 mAh cell and features a USB Type-C port and fast charging capabilities. The ZTE Axon 7 comes in a two variants, one with 64 GB of internal storage with 4 GB of RAM and another with 128 GB internal storage with 6 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there are no more details available as of now regarding actual launch or pricing but the smaller size and low-cost chip should help in cutting down the cost.
