Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 7 in just a few weeks, and given all of the leaks and rumors that have surfaced recently, it’s likely right around the corner. Over the weekend, the full render of the Galaxy Note 7 surfaced, showing the device in all its glory, along with the three colors it’ll be available in. Specs for the upcoming device have also surfaced a few times already. The rumor mill is pointing towards a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Note 7 (although there has been evidence of Samsung working on a 6-inch model too), along with 6GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s newest processor. Some have pointed to the unannounced Snapdragon 821 or 823, but since that is unannounced, that may not be the processor powering the Galaxy Note 7, and instead it would be the Snapdragon 820. Of course, in other regions, the Exynos 8893 is likely going to be powering it. A slight upgrade over the Exynos 8890 found in the Galaxy S7. There’s also talk of the storage being 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants along with a micro SD card slot.
Now the Galaxy Note 7 has supposedly been certified in Russia. The model number there is SM-N930FD. Additionally, this model is a dual-SIM model, which likely won’t be available everywhere, but it is fairly popular in some parts of Europe, Asia and South America. Now that the device has been certified in Russia, typically more information would be made available. But unfortunately, Russia hasn’t made much information available about the SM-N930FD. A bit surprising, but it will keep everyone excited about the Galaxy Note 7 when it does finally get officially announced.
Earlier rumors pointed towards Samsung holding an August 2nd event in New York City to announce the Galaxy Note 7. That may still be happening, with that still being a month away from now, invites haven’t yet gone out. The rumor mill has also stated that there will be just one device announced. The last two years, Samsung has announced two smartphones at their Fall Unpacked event – the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 4 Edge in 2014, and the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ in 2015. There have been some small leaks regarding a curved display model, but they have been very few and far between.
