The Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Mi Note 2 are expected to be introduced by the company in the coming weeks. These two handsets have been leaking out all over the place lately, both of these devices are said to ship with pressure sensitive displays and Qualcomm’s yet-unannounced Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor. Earlier today, we’ve talked more about the pressure sensitive displays on these two devices, and in the meantime, Xiaomi has shared a new teaser, read on.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be a direct successor to the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro phablets which were announced back in January last year. This device was expected to arrive at the beginning of this year, but that didn’t happen, though the company’s exec did confirm that it will arrive in the second half of 2016. Let’s take a look at Xiaomi’s official Mi Note 2 teaser, shall we. If you take a look at the company’s official teaser (image below the article), you’ll get to see something rather odd, an incorrect equation (2 > 5) of sorts. Now, based on this image, it seems like Xiaomi is dissing its very own flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 5. Now, this teaser also features the ‘Love without Losing’ hashtag, and all of this combined suggests that the Mi Note 2 will be an even more premium device than the Mi 5. On the other hand, this might only mean that the Mi Note 2 is larger than the Mi 5 (2 > 5), which will certainly going to be the case. Either way, Xiaomi is playing with us as usual, but chances are that this phone will be both larger and more powerful than the Mi 5, so… there you have it.
Now, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to cost at least 4,000 Yuan ($600), at least according to the company’s co-founder, Liwan Jiang, who confirmed this via a blog post recently. Such pricing is definitely unexpected, though this could mean that Xiaomi intends to introduce a truly premium handset, and we believe Liwan Jiang was referring to the highest-end variant of the device. The Mi Note 2 is rumored to arrive in a couple of models, all of which will sport a 5.7-inch display, while the highest-end model will be the ‘Edge’ model with a curved display. The base model of this phablet is said to sport 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, while the high-end variant is expected to ship with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Now, the ‘Edge’ variant will also arrive with 6GB of RAM, though you’ll also get 128GB of internal storage here. The Mi Note 2 is expected to arrive this month, the company’s co-founder, Lin Bin, said recently that they intend to introduce a new flagship in July, so we’re presuming he was talking about the Mi Note 2.
