Lenovo, a company that owns Motorola now, had introduced two ‘Lenovo Moto’ devices back in June, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. We’ve talked quite a bit about each of these phones, and have reviewed both of them on the site as well, in case you’d like to know more about them. That being said, the Lenovo Moto Z Play handset surfaced about a week ago, which more or less confirmed that a mid-range member of the Moto Z family is on the way. Having that in mind, the Moto Z Play has just been certified by TENAA, a Chinese equivalent to the FCC, read on.
Thanks to TENAA’s listing, we now basically know what will the Moto Z Play look like, and the listing also revealed the specs of Lenovo’s new handset. The Lenovo Moto Z Play will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable native storage. Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC running at 2GHz will fuel this handset, while the Adreno 506 GPU will also be a part of this package. The 16-megapixel camera is located on the back of the Moto Z Play, and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper is also a part of this package. The 3,300mAh battery will be included here, and you’ll also get fast charging as well. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is listed as the OS of choice for the Moto Z Play, and you’ll be able to find some Moto apps on top of vanilla Android. Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C and a fingerprint scanner will also be a part of the Moto Z Play package, and the device will also sport a water repellent nano-coating, and the Moto Mods connector.
The Lenovo Moto Z Play will come in Black with Gray and Black with Rose Gold colors. The device will measure 156.4 x 76.4 x 6.99mm, while it will weight 165 grams. This mid-ranger will, much like its more expensive siblings, be made out of metal, and even though we still don’t know when exactly will Lenovo pull the trigger on the announcement, the Moto Z Play will surely land soon.
