Huawei had introduced their Mate 8 flagship phablet back in November last year. This device was released with a 6-inch display and a metal body, while its specifications were considered to be high-end back then. Huawei had released a number of devices since then, including their P9 and P9 Plus flagships, but the company still hasn’t released a new flagship phablet, even though that device might land soon. The Huawei Mate 9 has been surfacing from time to time lately, and even though we don’t expect Huawei to introduce this handset during IFA next month, it could arrive either in October or November.
The Huawei Mate 9 will, once again, going to be made out of metal, though this time around it will sport two camera sensors on the back it seems, similar to the Huawei P9, P9 Plus and the Honor 8. Two new images surfaced earlier this month, and now we have some additional images to share with you. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see 4 new alleged Huawei Mate 9 images, and the two that surfaced earlier this month (last two). As you can see, the dual camera setup is located on the back of the device, right above the phone’s rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and next to the LED flash. There are two cutouts flanking those camera sensors, one is reserved for the aforementioned LED flash, while the laser autofocus will probably going to occupy the other one. Both physical keys (power / lock and volume rocker buttons) will be placed on the phone’s right side, while a Type-C USB port will be located at the bottom of this device. Two speaker grills will flank the Type-C USB port, though we’re still not sure if Huawei intends to include two sets of speakers here, or only one. It is also worth mentioning that the phone’s rear-facing camera sensors will protrude ever so slightly it seems, at least based on these images.
If a recent benchmark listing is to be believed, the Huawei Mate 9 will sport a 5.9-inch fullHD display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone carry two 12-megapixel camera sensors on the back, and an 8-megapixel unit will be available on its front side. The Huawei Kirin 960 is expected to fuel this device, and Android 7.0 Nougat might ship out of the box according to the aforementioned benchmark listing. Huawei’s Emotion UI will be available on top of Android, as per usual, and chances are that Huawei will include two SIM card slots here as well.
