OPPO is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in China at the moment. Believe it or not, OPPO was the second largest smartphone manufacturing company in China in the second quarter of this year according to some projections, they’ve allegedly managed to sell quite a bit of devices to place themselves above Vivo and Xiaomi, though they’re still nowhere near Huawei, at least not at the moment. Vivo had managed to sell 50 million smartphones last year, and if they keep this up, they’ll be able to do much better by the end of 2016.
That being said, the company’s R7 and R7 Plus devices were the best selling OPPO units last year, and the company expects that the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus handsets will do the same for them this year. Well, these devices belong to the ‘R’ line of devices in China, but the company tends to rename them when they get released in other countries, so they released the OPPO R9 in India as the OPPO F1 Plus. That being said, the company has just introduced yet another OPPO ‘F’ handset in India, the OPPO F1s. This smartphone sports a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top of it. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.5GHz, and the Mali-T860 GPU is here for graphics rendering. The phone also comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage, while a 3,075mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable.
On the back of the OPPO F1s you’ll be able to find a 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture, PDAF), while a 16-megapixel camera (5P lens, f/2.0 aperture) is located on the phone’s front side. The fingerprint scanner is built into OPPO F1s physical home button, and there are two SIM card slots available inside of this device. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the OPPO F1s, and on top of it, you’ll get OPPO’s ColorOS 3.0 UI. The phone measures 154.5 x 76 x 7.38mm, while it weighs 160 grams. The device comes in Gold and Gray color variants, and it is priced at Rs. 17,990 ($269) in India. You’ll be able to pre-order this phone starting August 4th, while the device will go on sale starting August 11th. The phone will be available in a number of stores all over India, and Amazon India will get exclusivity as far as online sales go.
