Recently we have seen a number of rumors surrounding a third Moto Z device, the Moto Z Play, which is supposedly going to launch alongside the Chinese versions of the Moto Z and Moto Z Force at an event on September 6th. Now, two new hands-on images have leaked along with a promotional poster that has been spotted at a store located at the Chengdu International Finance Square. From what can be seen, the poster appears to advertise a 36-hour standby battery life – thanks to the rumored 3150mAh battery which supports Motorola’s TurboPower fast charge technology – though it also confirms that the device will indeed work with the company’s current Moto Mods along with what appears to be two new Mods, a JBL Speaker Mod, and a new Camera Mod.
In case you are wondering, the Moto Z Play is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch OLED display, along with a 1080 x 1920p resolution, meaning it will be Full HD. On the inside, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor is expected alongside the Adreno 506 GPU for graphics processing. Regarding the device’s memory, 3GB of RAM are expected alongside 64GB of internal storage. Lastly, the device is rumored to feature a 16-megapixel camera on the rear, while the front allegedly features a 5-megapixel selfie sensor. In comparison, the Moto Z Features a 1440 x 2560 resolution, meaning a Quad HD display instead of the Full HD one present on the Moto Z Play. As well as this, a Snapdragon 820 processor is present, along with more RAM which brings the total to 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a significantly smaller 2600mAh battery. On the camera front, a 13-megapixel camera is present on the rear, while the front features the same 5-megapixel camera that is rumored to be on the Moto Z Play.
In terms of design, the Moto Z Play appears to look very similar to both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force and also appears to keep the square-shaped fingerprint scanner that sits directly underneath the display.
