Now that the LG V20 is officially official, the next big question is what carriers will be carrying the device, and when can it be picked up. Well it appears that AT&T will once again carry the LG V20 after carrying the LG V10 last year, and supposedly selling a decent amount of them to pick up the successor this year. AT&T has not made any mention about when the device would be available, or how much it’ll cost. With the device slated to come out later this fall, it shouldn’t be long before that information is made public.
The LG V20 has a lot of great things going for it. Like the LG G5, LG V10 and older LG flagships, there is a removable battery here. Instead of popping off the bottom of the device to slide out the battery, you simply take off the back and you have access to your SIM card slot and battery – which sports a 3200mAh capacity. LG has also been touting that this is the first quad-DAC smartphone ever. There are four DACs (which stands for digital to analog converter) inside, and LG says that this provides users with the clearest sound on any smartphone. They’ve also added some controls for audiophiles to get the most out of their LG V20.
LG has packed the V20 with specs that you would mostly expect on a smartphone coming out in the fall of 2016. There’s no Snapdragon 821 processor here, instead LG is keeping with the Snapdragon 820. That is paired with the Adreno 530 GPU along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Don’t forget that there is still a micro SD card slot here, allowing you to add up to another 256GB of storage to your device. The display is a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, and there is a second display above that, which serves about the same purpose that the original LG V10’s secondary display served. Which is to be a ticker and provide information without using up your primary screen. It’s also the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
