Recently, Google updated their micro-community app, Spaces. The app saw a pretty small update that brought it to version 1.7. However, the update does bring a feature that many users have been clamoring for since it launched. And that is a way to download images that are posted in the app. You see Spaces is an app where you can create a community, sort of like those found on Google+. And others may post an image that you may want to download and use, one specific case would be a wallpaper. The ability to save that wallpaper wasn’t available in earlier versions, but it is now, through the overflow menu. Making it a whole lot more useful.
Google announced Spaces back in May of this year. It was being marketed as an app that users can use to share things with groups of people. Which seemed a bit redundant at first, since you can do that with many other apps from Google, including Google+. However, Spaces is not part of Google+ (even though notifications will appear in Google+ on desktop for Spaces), and only requires a Google account, which mostly everyone has. After users started actually using the app, they found that it was much different than they thought, and actually a pretty useful app.
Now this update does bring the ability to save posted images, but it does also bring a slew of bug fixes and stability improvements. Something that is always welcome in an app update. If you are a user of Spaces, then you’ll definitely want to pick up this update for your smartphone. As is usually the case with Google apps, it’s on a slow, staged rollout. So you may not have received it on your device(s) yet. Which isn’t a problem, as we do have the APK available for you to download. Just grab the APK from the link below, and then make sure that “Unknown Sources” is checked (usually under Settings and then Security) and you’ll be able to side load the update onto your smartphone. Additionally, it’s important to note that this will install over your current installation of Spaces. So if there is an issue with the update, you’ll need to uninstall it and then redownload from Google Play.
