Half Of Recalled Galaxy Note 7s Have Been Replaced In The US

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was off to a great start, the device was introduced last month, and the company had received tons of pre-orders for their new flagship phablet. Unfortunately for Samsung, however, a number of reports surfaced claiming that the Galaxy Note 7 units are exploding basically, soon after they started to arrive to consumers. Samsung looked into the problem and soon after that they’ve decided to recall Galaxy Note 7 units as quite a few of them were shipped with a malfunctioning battery. It has been a while since that happened, and the company had already started shipping new devices to their consumers, 500,000 new units arrived in the US quite recently, and users have started replacing their malfunctioning units. Well, we have some new info regarding all that to share with you, read on.

Samsung has just today that ‘about half’ of the affected phones have been replaced in the US, which means quite a few users still have to turn in their affected units. This is the official report: “Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced today that about half of all recalled Galaxy Note 7 phones sold in the U.S. have been exchanged through Samsung’s voluntary recall. Additionally, 90 percent of Galaxy Note 7 owners have been opting to receive the new Galaxy Note 7 since the phones became widely available on Wednesday, September 21.” Do keep in mind that it has been only a day since Samsung started replacing old Galaxy Note 7 units, and replacing half of them in just 24 hours is quite impressive. It remains to be seen what happens in the coming days, but we do hope that more users will turn up and replace their malfunctioning Galaxy Note 7 units. As a side note, Samsung is still letting you know you should replace your Galaxy Note 7 handset by prompting you to do so every time you plug in your phone to charge it.
