Nexon To Publish 'Titanfall Frontline' Mobile Game

Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind the popular Titanfall first-person shooter franchise that is due to release its second game in the near future, is partnering with Nexon and Particle City to release a mobile game based on the series that will be called Titanfall Frontline. The gameplay will be card-based, and from the screenshots it doesn’t look like it’s too far off from other games in the genre such as Hearthstone, although Titanfall Frontline will actually be one of a series of different strategy card games that Respawn plans to launch alongside its partners. Naturally, players will be able to battle each other while trying to make the most strategic moves possible with cards in their deck as they each make an attempt at victory.

Although many may not have expected there to be a Titanfall strategy card game headed towards release, this isn’t the first we’ve heard of a mobile game based on the Titanfall franchise, as it was mentioned back in the end of last October that a Titanfall game for mobile devices was in the works for a 2016 release. Details are still a little bit scarce when it comes to everything the game will include, but there is some information available on the game’s website, which players can also go to for pre-registration if they wish.

Titanfall Frontline will feature real-time PvP card battles so each card played could make or break the match going forward, and players will of course need to think on their feet. Victory will reward players with higher ranks the more that they play and the game will include a leaderboard that players can attempt to climb. Cards will be upgradeable, so players will definitely want to take the time to fine tune their decks as much as possible so they aren’t wasting upgrades on cards they don’t end up using in the future. Of course, things change and players will certainly end up swapping cards out of their decks, but spending a little time finding the cards they most want to use could be hugely beneficial. The game will include various types of cards including titan cards, burn cards, and pilot cards for a well-rounded set of options. Titanfall Frontline will also have social aspects and allow players to create social guilds with which they can team up and battle other guilds, which should make for a nice new PvP element that isn’t seen in other card battlers. As of right now there is no mention of when the game will release, but pre-registering will make it so that those that are interested will receive an email when the game is ready.
