Flip phone were immensely popular back in the day. Pretty much every cellphone manufacturer released a flip phone at some point, though such devices are not that common nowadays (ever since smartphones came to play), not even remotely. Very few companies release flip phone smartphones, though some of them still do from time to time, and Samsung is an excellent example. This company had recently introduced the Galaxy Folder 2, the company’s second-gen entry-level flip phone.
That being said, Samsung’s ‘Veyron’ (SM-W2017) flip phone smartphone has been rumored for a long time now, and we’ve seen tons of real life images leak recently. On top of all that, the device was benchmarked by AnTuTu as well, and it’s just a matter of time before Samsung releases this smartphone. While we’re waiting for that to happen, yet another set of real life Veyron images surfaced. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see this device in the flesh. Now, this is not exactly an entry-level device like the Galaxy Folder 2, but a straight up high-end handset by the company. Now, the device is said to sport a 4.2-inch fullHD display (well, two of them it seems), 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. The 12-megapixel shooter will be placed on its back (quite probably the same sensor you can find in the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy Note 7), and a 5-megapixel snapper will be placed on the phone’s front side. The fingerprint scanner will also be a part of this offering, and a 2,000mAh battery will be included on the inside as well (+Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0). Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this handset, and Samsung’s custom UI will be available on top of it.
This handset is said to cost $1,498, at least based on a recent rumor, which means it will be extremely expensive. Take this pricing info with a grain of salt though, as the info is based on one rather vague rumor. Chances are that this handset will launch in Asia first, and it might make its way to Europe and the US at some point, though we’re not sure. In any case, stay tuned.
