The Xiaomi Mi 5s is the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone. Xiaomi had confirmed yesterday that the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 by benchmarking it on AnTuTu and sharing its score. The company had also scheduled a press event for September 27th, and had clearly indicated that the ‘s’ smartphone will be introduced during that event. That being said, Xiaomi has just released yet another teaser for their upcoming flagship, read on.
If you take a look at the image above, you’ll get to see a pretty obvious confirmation that the Xiaomi Mi 5s will ship with two camera sensors on the back. The company did not exactly reveal any more info via this teaser image, but they have once again mentioned that its release date is September 27th. Now, in addition to this official teaser, the phone’s pricing has leaked in China as well. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see two images, and these are allegedly Xiaomi’s presentation slides for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s launch. Anyhow, the first slide reveals pricing for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Xiaomi Mi 5s, and if accurate, that model will cost 1,999 Yuan ($300) in the country. Now, the higher-end variant of this smartphone, also referred to as the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, will allegedly cost 2,999 Yuan ($449) and ship with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. If this leak is accurate, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5s devices will be really affordable, having their build and specs in mind, of course.
Now, as far as the aforementioned dual camera setup goes, this is not the first time one of Xiaomi’s devices will sport two camera sensors on the back. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro, a device we’ve reviewed quite recently, sports two cameras on the back, and they’re actually quite capable. We do expect, however, that Xiaomi further improves their camera on the upcoming Mi 5s. This smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, and it will probably be made out of metal and glass, just like the Xiaomi Mi 5s. Qualcomm’s Sense ID (ultrasonic fingerprint scanner) has also been rumored lately, and so was the iris scanner. Another thing worth mentioning here is a recent rumor that surfaced in China which said that the phone might be called the ‘Mi Note S’ in the end, not the Mi 5s, but we’ll refer to it as the Mi 5s until the company releases the device, as we’re still not sure what to expect in that regard.
